EEO-1 filing — what's the cleanest way to handle component 2 (pay data) reporting?

We're a 220-EE government contractor and EEO-1 component 2 (the pay-data part) was paused but is coming back. The first time we did it, the prep took 60 hours from our HR + finance teams.

For anyone who's gotten this reasonably efficient: did your HCM platform actually generate component 2 data clean, or did you still have to massage it? What's the gold-standard workflow that doesn't require a consultant?
