Payroll error detection AI — useful or just a confidence pacifier?
A few vendors are now selling "AI-driven payroll error detection" — flagging outlier hours, unusual deductions, anomalous tax withholdings before processing.
For anyone running this in production: what's the false-positive rate? Does it actually catch things your existing pre-flight checks miss? Or is it mostly flagging your highest-paid execs as "anomalies" and wasting reviewer time?
